Guess who’s back in the house. Or perhaps the supermarket. It’s our most frequent guest on the podcast - the inimitable Meg Williams - and she’s here to talk with us about “the only band that matters.” There’s a reason why The Clash’s 1979 album London Calling ends up on all of those “best of all time” lists (even if it is a bit on the long side). It’s when the band really started veering from their punk roots and experimented with other genres, all without compromising their politics. But what else will Meg say to make a case for this one to enter the pantheon? Will she be derailed by our inevitable tangents? Will the final verdict be death or glory? (Spoiler alert: no one died during the recording of this episode.)
Apologies for the subpar sound quality on this one, y'all. Let it be known that Riverside is not the greatest recording tool.
