Today’s conversation is with Karen Johnson, a healer and writer who spent 30 years of her life working as a judge until her beloved son, Ben, died from an overdose at 27.

After that devastating experience, she sold her home, retired, spent 2 and a half years traveling and interviewing shamans, and ultimately became one herself. 

This episode is about Karen’s journey with grief and the world beyond. She emphasizes that, while it will take time, we don’t have to be stuck in our grief and our loved ones don’t want us to be stuck as it keeps them from doing their work on the other side.

Karen Johnson is a graduate of Georgetown Law Center (J.D.), a former Fulbright Scholar in Afghanistan, and holds Masters Degrees in Public Health and Public and International Affairs (MPH, MPIA). Karen is a retired federal administrative law judge and practiced criminal and energy law for more than 30 years. She also is a former U.S. Army officer, Major, USAR (inactive). 

Karen was personally trained by Alberto Villoldo and the Four Winds Society, and holds a certification in Luminous Healing from Healing the Light Body School, and is a teacher with the Four Winds.
