Ep 120 // Neural Chunking When Learning to Handstand

Listen Later

This we talk about one of our favourite subjects, what Tim often describes as the most fun you can have with your hands... that's right handstands!
In particular we are looking into the learning process, how we break it down into what the science of motor learning calls 'neural chunk' which are effectively bites sizes components of each stage or element of the skill. This smaller elements or neural chunks allow us to learn one stage at a time, which we've found is extremely effective when redefining your impossible of learning complex fine motor skills like using your hands like feet.
We hope by giving you an insight into the thought process and rational behind why we teach the handstand and other calisthenics movement the way we do will help you to apply those principles more effectively to your own training.
Help you to be more efficient with your training and ultimately make more progress.
NEW HANDSTAND programme out NOW + you can get access as part of a membership with 50% off during April (with 10% going to charities) see full details of the offer here - https://classroom.schoolofcalisthenics.com/pages/handstand-up
