Often considered one of the greatest to ever play for the Rockport High School Vikings and URI Ram Mens Basketball Teams, Steve has amassed a legendary career even after his playing days. After his time overseas ended, he returned to the States and would spend the next three decades as an athletic director, educator, and coach at his alma mater.

In 1988 he was inducted into the URI Athletics Hall of Fame

In 2007 his high school gym was named after him

In 2013 he was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame

His 1,890 career points at URI still rank in the top five of all time.
