Gene is a veteran Rhode Island journalist, anchor, and radio host! From papal visits, local and national elections, and the 9/11 attacks in New York City where he was one of the first reporters to reach ground zero, moderating political debates, Valicenti has done it all.
After graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson University, our guest spent some time in New Jersey at WPIX, public television in Connecticut, before coming to NBC10 in Rhode Island in 1992!
In my conversation with the television and radio hall of famer, we cover all aspects of his life from growing up in The Garden State, having a passion, being driven, his beginnings in the field, talk radio, his longevity on television, and much more!

Nick is an award-winning sports reporter, broadcaster, and sports director at ABC6 in Rhode Island. After three years in Bangor, Maine, the Plymouth, Massachusetts native came to Rhode Island where he would have the opportunity to work with the legendary Ken Bell. Eventually, in 2017, Coit would become the new sports director after Bell's retirement. Since then he's worked in tandem with Ian Steele.
