It's Sickle Cell Awareness month and Rizzy, Omelly, Spree & Ed are joined by the talented musician Ali aka A Star(@astarmusicuk). This is a very special episode as our very own Rizzy along with Ali tell their story of what it means to live with Sickle Cell. The condition, which affects around 15,000 people in the UK, is particularly common in black people. The main symptoms of sickle cell disease include sickle cell crises, which can be very severe and can last up to a week or increased risk of serious infections. Sickle cell disease can be extremely painful and sufferers are at higher risk of developing life-threatening conditions, having strokes and losing their vision. The guys also discuss dealing with insecurities and how they can affect a person's confidence. The episode fittingly caps off with Ali's amazing track Hidden Pain ft. Leke which shares his story of how life is battling with sickle cell and encouraging people to give blood.
