Ep 130: Healthy Or Unhealthy Comparison?

Listen Later

Comparison is a natural tendency for humans. It can be used to inspire us or tear us down. Most often, subconsciously, we use comparison to self-sabotage, leaving us to play a small game and bring others down with us. The focus of most comparisons is typically the external material aspects of the world, such as money, status, and physical appearance. This feeds the scarcity mindset. But a scarcity mindset isn’t inherently wrong. What’s important is our awareness of when and why we are comparing.

  • Acknowledging your comparison

  • Using comparison for inspiration

  • Measuring stick to support goals

  • Unintentional disempowerment

  • Often, comparison concerns the tangible

  • Comparison feeds scarcity

  • Following curiosity

  • Stunting or expanding curiosity

  • Opportunities and reminders through comparison
