In today's episode I amplify the importance of engaging with our higher activation states in the body in order to allow the body to remember its self regulating capacity that is often fragmented during traumatic experience.
Although down regulating the nervous can be incredibly helpful in moment of intense stress, when chronically used, it may mean we are working against the physiology of what the traumatized state is communicating.
I discuss the importance of taking the time and space to get to the root of the nervous system high activation state so we aren't always reliant on parasympathetic strategies to get through our day.
