I hear artists asking this one question again and again in many forms, it always boils down to this: should my creativity just happen, or should I sit down every day and make sure it happens?
I think we know deep down, that natural organic home-grown creativity feels WAY better than when we force it. There is nothing better than getting a visitation from the muse when we least expect it. And there is nothing worse than trying and trying and just ending up with… nothing.
The idea that we have no control over when our creativity flows is disempowering, especially when it means our creativity falls to the bottom of our list each day. In this episode, I offer the best answer I’ve come up with so far.
