Reese Fernandez-Ruiz is the co-founder of the social enterprise called Rags2Riches, or R2R for short. R2R is a fashion and design house that crafts eco-ethical products woven by empowered community artisans from underprivileged and indigenous communities from the Philippines. The brand is all about making things that matter, and weaving joy into every story. Every product is handmade by artisans from the R2R community, using upcycled, overstock cloth, and indigenous fabrics.
Reese, as co-founder of R2R, has been included in the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2015, she has been recognized as a Global Good Fund Fellow, the 2010 Rolex Awards for Enterprise, is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, and was a recipient of the 2015 Eileen Fisher Women in Business Award. That’s just the tip of the iceberg — the list of awards is very, very long.
