Last time on HPH we began the story of Toussaint Louverture who joined up with a slave rebellion in his home in the French colony of Saint Domingue. He rose to prominence and proved himself to be not only a brilliant military mind, but also an adept politician who would do anything to maintain the freedom on his fellow citizens. In this episode, we're taking a look at how he tried to best help his people while repeatedly being dicked over by the French, who were afraid of losing their colony. And of course we take a lot of strange detours on our drunken journey.
