Vulnerability has become a buzzword. Although vulnerability may still be uncomfortable for some people, others are “doing” vulnerability as a tactic rather than actually being vulnerable. Humans have an innate sense for identifying inauthenticity. Yet, the ego finds ways to justify masking agendas under the guise of vulnerability. How intentional are you about what to share, who to share it with, and when to share it? How often do you feel seen and heard after a vulnerable share? How do you feel when someone comes to you vulnerably? It’s critical to be sensitive to your emotional and cognitive tendencies. Being authentically vulnerable is powerful and a gateway to deepening trust within yourself and with others.
People are doing vulnerability, but it’s not authentic
Not being intentional with your shares
Not everyone is able to receive what you have to share
Laying the groundwork before a vulnerable share
Knowing what you want from sharing
Becoming more vulnerable in relationships
Without vulnerability, there won’t be much trust
Dancing with the ego
Being on the receiving end of a vulnerable share
