Ep. 17: Keeping our indegenous roots alive with Leslie Cruz

Listen Later

One could say that SaviaGuate was born from the founder's joy of sharing souvenirs from trips to her country with co-workers. With time, friends and family began requesting these items which ultimately led to the start of a business.

The truth is that SaviaGuate has been brewing for much, much longer. Leslie grew up in a household of women entrepreneurs and artisans who have been hand-crafting items ever since she can remember. This upbringing has instilled in her a deep love and appreciation for her culture and the tenacity it takes to create something by hand.

In this episode, Leslie will share with us the  mission of SaviaGuate and how much she enjoys  bringing the story behind each artisan craft to light and through that she continues to empower the indigenous people of Guatemala while raising overall awareness of this beautiful country rich in creativity and color.
