Church for Normies

ep 18 - What's in a Name: bread and light

Listen Later

Robert Fulton has long been known as the inventor of the steam-powered boat. Except that's not true - he developed the first commercially successful steam-powered boat. Fulton was an innovator on the work of John Fitch, the actual inventor. It's funny how a man's name can be associated with something that lost a bit (or a lot) of its meaning because of popular notions.

The same could be said of Jesus Christ. Did you know that there were seven times that he self-referenced himself with categorical statements beginning with "I am ..."?

These are important not only because of what he said, but to whom he said it to, and to their universal application to all mankind.

The greatest statesmen whoever lived (and they said nation-building things!) babbled toddler noises when compared to the profoundly powerful things Jesus said about himself - and what that means to you and me. Listen-in on this interesting conversation that Nate has with Sean.
