After the shocking public fallout between Sam Raimi and Sony, Spider-Man 4 was no more, and a new reboot was quickly in development and began production by the end of 2010. Starring Andrew Garfield and directed by Marc Webb, this new take on the wall-crawler sought to be darker, grittier, more grounded, and more modern.
