Dr. Nia Perkins has been a practicing veterinarian for almost 20 years. A graduate of Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine, she dreamed of becoming a vet since she was a child growing up in Chicago. She hadn't been practicing long before she realized that things were not going to go the way she had planned them out in her head. She thought she would find her dream job, stay there until she retired, then travel and live out her days in peace. Her career has taken many twists and turns, and she has learned so much along the way. Twenty years in, she has finally figured out what brings her joy. Nia wants to help you find your rightful place, whether that's in the profession or not so that you can spend the rest of your time enjoying life. When she's not doing what she loves career-wise, you can find her spending time with her teenage son and family, baking all things sweet, and when the world opens completely, traveling to different countries to offer medical care to animals that have limited access.
