Keeping It 100 Radio: Uncensored Diabetes Conversations

EP 19: FOR THE NEWLY DIAGNOSED T1D: All the things I wish I knew

Listen Later

Diabetes is like learning a language you never wanted to learn. Not only are there new "rules", a new way of taking care of yourself and a new way of making decisions, but there are A LOT of new terms to learn. Heck, when I was diagnosed I didn't even know what a carb was, none the less a "bolus".

Inside this weeks episode I'm breaking down nine diabetes-specific definitions I wish I learned sooner. Learning these not only would have made my endocrinologists appointments a lot less overwhelming, but it would have allowed me to have more powerful interactions with other members in the diabetes community.

Here's what's inside the episode:

- Nine definitions it took three years to learn in my own management

- Four things I WISH my endocrinologist told me from the very beginning

- How to use these for your own journey and make them your own
