Exit the station and take a right. There is a small parking lot and a single exiting street. Go over the bridge and take a right. Trust me. Go right. The entrance to the trail is after the first left turn and a bit of a turn back. It is easy to see.

Great look out from the top including Lake Biwa. Take the same train back to Kyoto station.
