It's Oscar season, everyone's favorite season, right? To celebrate we are talking about some of our favorite movies that fell a little short in taking home the golden statue. 

Arrival was a huge fan favorite in 2016, but a movie about aliens visiting Earth to teach us their language was only enough to take one award that season. 

So what if Arrival came out in 2017? Is Shape of Water still the Best Picture winner? If Nocturnal Animals doesnt come out in 2016, does Amy Adams get a nomination? Can we just have Abbott and Costello host the Oscars? (since they already know the winners)

If Dr. Banks can learn the heptapod language, maybe we can decipher why this movie never took home more Oscar gold.
