We’re about to get spooky, guys. Because you know what week it is, it’s Halloween! AKA, one of our favorite holidays to get down to. Genuinely, we are so grateful for our loyal, lovely listener Alex suggested we head to Salem, MA to celebrate TWENTY episodes of this shindig. It’s been a wild ride so far, and we’ve really enjoyed traveling all over the world so far.
As always, we used the world wide web to find all the information. History.com gave us all the great Salem Witch Trial information, along with the Salem Witch Trials Documentary Archive and Transcription Projects. We also referenced the Salem Witch Hunt documentary by Explore, which gave some interesting commentary on the 1692 events! Jordan credits her historical and tourism facts to U-S-History.com, Thrillist, and NewEngland.com.
PS: Chelsea would like to say she is terrible at movie names and Dawn of The Dead is the zombie movie she was referring to.
Notable Show Moments02:54 — We’re getting witchy in Salem!
08:02 — Halloween this or that
18:32 — Obviously, we have to cover the witch trials
44:17 — The must visit spots in the city
Potion Concoction — A cocktail consisting of sprite, beer, vodka, and crystal light that hails back to Jordan’s parents’ Halloween parties
The Witch House — Home of Jonathon Corwin, a judge at the Witch Trials. One of the only remaining buildings standing since the trials.
Burying Point Cemetery — Many of the victims of the Witch Trials are buried here. Spooky old cemetery
Salem Witch Trial Memorial — Sits beside the cemetery and has the victims names and last words carved into it.
House of The Seven Gables — Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote a novel inspired by this house, which in turn took on the book’s name.
Haunted Happenings — A month of Halloween celebrations
Thank you so much for listening! We are so incredibly grateful for your support, love, and ongoing attention. You must like us to be here, and we just have to admit we like you too. If you haven’t given us a review on Apple Podcasts yet, your 5-star feedback helps us reach more people. Which is what we want, obviously. The more the merrier!
Until next time — stay weird, le strangers.
