So what exactly happened? It rocked the box office and even nabbed a Best Picture nomination (along with 9 others, again, we will never understand how The Blind Side received a nomination)

Unique aliens, a compelling plot, and enough themes/ideologies that will satisfy any hungry college student working on their dissertation.

Did Neil Blomkamp's follow up films, Elysium and Chappie, taint District 9 somehow? Does the lack of a District 10 have an effect on our memory of this movie? What about the lack of star power? Do the prawns and worm guys from Men In Black live on the same planet?
