Passport Le Strange

Ep. 23 — Bucket List Destinations (ft. All Our Love)

Listen Later

Happy Monday, Strangers! We’re delighted to be back with a new episode of Passport Le Strange, but are sad to share that it will be our last episode. After nearly six months of exploration, murder, and general shenanigans, we put our heads and hearts together and made the tough decision to focus our energies on our other passion projects and professional hustles. We’re sad to say goodbye to the podcast, but excited for all our adventures ahead.

More than anything, we want to say thank you. Thank you for letting us be apart of your lives, infiltrating your car stereos, work headphones, and home sound systems. It’s been an honor and a privilege to have had your support, and we truly cannot express how grateful we are for everyone who ever listened to our show. Especially you.

And don’t worry -- although our episodes will eventually come down when our website eventually expires, our adventures will live on forever in the form of a YouTube channel. You can find all of our episodes converted over to video form along with some behind the scenes bonus content over at bit.ly/PassportLeStrange (please note the capitalized letters are important!).

To send things off, we’ve decided to each choose our bucket list destination. Jordan kicks the episode off with Tokyo, Japan, where you’ll also hear about an unsolved cold case. Chelsea then takes us to Antarctica, which she isn’t so sure you should *actually* visit — but apparently the continent does have an attempted murder and an interesting chess fun fact.

What We’re Drinking Today

  • Hibiki Whisky — Who would have guessed Japan has amazing whiskey? Jordan, that’s who. To send off our last episode, she dips into one of her favorite alcohol food groups and enjoys every sip.

  • Strawberry Iceberg — Because Antarctica doesn’t have any breweries, Chelsea opted for a drink she loved on her honeymoon. A light beer topped with a frozen strawberry margarita. 10/10 yummy.

All about Tokyo

  • Robot Restaurant — A super popular restaurant with live robot entertainment

  • Sumo wrestling — Catch a practice if you’re looking for a more budget freindly option

  • Animal café — Owls! Hedgehogs! And kitties! Oh my!

  • Indianapolis has a cat café which I’ve been to but there are so many

  • Sensoji — Tokyo’s oldest temple

  • Real life Mario Kart — With a valid Japanese or international driver’s license, of course

  • Harajuku neighborhood — High fashion! Very “Kawaii” style in anime and fashion. Very bubblegum and pop-like

  • Tsukiji Fish Market — Get the freshest seafood

  • Take a cooking class — Bring skills home, not just souvenirs

  • Eat all the food — Sushi, Omakase, Kaiseki, Wagyu beef, Tempura, Ramen, Yakiniku (BBQ), Gyoza, Sake, Japanese Tea Ceremony

All about Antarctica

  • There’s not a lot to say here, folks. It’s a continent with no restaurants or experiences to achieve outside of whatever travel company gets you there.

Thank you again for everything, Strangers. We are so lucky to have had this experience, and for you having been along on the ride with us. Please feel free to reach out to us at any time on Instagram (@TheTravelBuffet, @chelseamberlynn), we’re always here and would love to stay in touch! Especially if you are looking to plan a trip anytime soon, Jordan is a pro. Find her expertise at https://www.thetravelbuffet.com — trust us, you won’t be disappointed.

Until next time, friends. We love you.
