This week, we encounter Jesus at the Pool of Bethesda.

Surrounded by a multitude of broken and waiting people, Jesus walks up to one man who had been paralyzed for 38 years — and everything changes.

But the healing isn’t the end of the story, it’s the beginning of a conflict.

We talk about why Jesus chose this man, what the man may or may not have understood, and how the religious leaders’ devotion to rules caused them to miss the heart of God completely. The Sabbath was never meant to add pressure — it was meant to create space to enjoy God and experience His goodness.
