In this week's episode, I'm diving deep into a topic that I think gets misunderstood a lot: discomfort.
What We're Covering:I talk about how many of us have been conditioned to treat discomfort as a warning sign - like it means "stop" or "turn back." But here's the truth I want to share with you: if you're living a big, expanded life and pursuing goals that actually matter to you, discomfort is just part of it.
The Three ZonesI break down the three zones we move through:
The Comfort Zone - where everything feels familiar and automatic. It's great for rest and integration, but staying here too long means you stop growing.
The Growth Zone - where productive discomfort lives. This is where you're stretching, learning, building new capacity. It feels challenging but manageable, and this is where transformation happens.
The Danger Zone - when you've pushed too far, too fast. This feels paralyzing and destabilizing rather than productive.
What Actually WorksI share my practical framework for working with discomfort:
Pause and get curious about what specifically you're nervous about
Turn your doubts into questions (like turning "I don't know if I can do this" into "What skill do I need to develop?")
Use your nerves as diagnostic tools pointing you toward what needs attention
Not all discomfort means keep going. I walk through how to tell the difference between growth zone discomfort (keep leaning in!) and danger zone discomfort (time to pause and reassess).
