On Easter Monday, April 24, 1916, a group of Irish poets, teachers, and political activists decided it was high time to take control of Ireland from the English and give it to the Irish people. There were a few problems with their plan such as a complete lack of military training or knowledge, a disagreement within the leadership that would severely limit their manpower, and the fact that the majority of the public didn't really give a crap about rebellion in the first place. Still, this 6 day revolution would lead to massive changes and uprising in Ireland so we'll give credit where credit is due...even if it was a massive clusterfuck. Grab your favorite Irish Whisky and your box of Lucky Charms and join us on a journey to early 20th century Dublin in this episode of Hundred Proof History entitled Easter Rising...Will Someone Take This Seriously Please?
