We come into 2024 celebrating not only the New Year, but also the 1 year anniversary of the Mr. Spann Official Podcast, and this week represents 13 years in podcasting for Mr. Spann. So we're feeling a bit festive around here because of it. And because of that, we're taking back old school, and doing some of the segments you guys came to expect and love. We'll start the show with a few of Spann's Random Thoughts, before we dive In The News! And in the news, we have a new Michigan law that will automatically register new voters as they leave prison. Joe Biden has been forgiven student loans for over 3 million borrowers, and as he kicks off his reelection campaign, he's making an effort to make sure that people know just that. Then, we move on to Blue Blazes, where Katt Williams set the Internet ON FIRE with his appearance on the Club Shay Shay show on YouTube, where he aired out other comedians for stealing jokes, fighting for his integrity, and did he slyly clown host Shannon Sharpe for allowing people to lie on his show, while telling a few fibs himself? We'll definitely dive in. And over in Vegas, a dude who should have been an Olympian showed off his high jump abilities while ATTACKING A JUDGE AT HIS SENTENCING!" And in the college football world, College Game Day host Reece Davis introduced a segment about University of Alabama Quarterback Jalen Milroe, and innocently walked into to the most hilariously awkward exchange in this short year. Or did he? Then we move on to Proud To Be American, where we find that Republican efforts to crack down on "voter fraud" largely targets Democratic areas, and minority voters. And Christopher Rufo, the conservative operative who's weaponized terms like CRT to roll back historical curriculums across the country, has now managed with congressional help, and pressure, to get the now former President of Harvard University, Claudine Gay to resign her position, and disingenuously used the accusation of plagiarism to do it.
