Kicking off season 2 with a jump start we are so excited to welcome Sonya Ellis, MSN, CANS, CPSN a 15 year veteran in the industry, the owner of the L.A.B. Medspa in Texas. In this episode we talk about how the Myers-Brigg personality test was the reason for her nursing career path and how she fell in love with Aesthetics from her work as a surgical nurse to some of the top names in Texas. About Our Guest:
Sonya started her nursing career in 1998 as a nurse’s aide while she worked her way through nursing school, and now she is one of only two nurses in the state of Texas who are not only certified in Aesthetics but also Plastic Surgery. She has spent the past two decades training with the best plastic surgeons and dermatologists from around the world to develop her own unique techniques and consultations. She has a palpable passion for the industry and runs a very busy injectable practice in the Southlake area. She has not only earned the respect of her peers but also physicians for having an outgoing personality and providing quality aesthetic care and referrals.
Sonya works under the direction of Medical Director, Stephen R. Ellis, MD as well as Dr. Jesse Smith, MD, FACS. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association, American Society of Plastic Surgical Nurses and Texas Association of Aesthetic Nurses
Sonya has been married to the love of her life for over 20 years and has one son who is attending Texas A&M University. She enjoys a 106lb Labradoodle fur baby at home and in her spare time likes to volunteer for numerous charities, loves to travel the world and enjoys socializing with friends and family when time permits.
