LOL And we start off todays show responding to a few emails before we get to some of Spann’s Random Thoughts, then we get right on In The News, where COVID-19 cases are spiking all over the country after Memorial Day celebrations and protests over the death of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. The City Council of Minneapolis has voted to disband it’s police department, and with it comes the questions of what the “Defund The Police” mantra really means, and what that could really look like. And the now former Minneapolis Police Officer who killed George Floyd is said to have worked with Floyd previously, but did he really?

Then we’re on to Blue Blazes, where Mike O’Meara, a New York City policeman, and union boss went on a rant that has since gone viral about the treatment the police get from the public, and the media. But did he forget his self awareness? GoFundMe has suspended a fund raising campaign organized by noted conservative internet troll Candace Owens for an Alabama bar, after the owner of the bar was noted for calling George Floyd a “thug.” NASCAR has banned the Confederate flag from it’s races and other properties to the shock of millions of outsiders and their fans. So much so, one of their most unknown drivers has made more news in his entire career because of his objection to the move.

And in our new Lose Your Job segment, we find a New Jersey corrections officer being caught on camera in the kneeling position mocking the death of George Floyd. And a Party City employee has got to Facebook Live to tell the world that she thinks all Black Lives Matter protesters should be killed. Y’all already know what happened.

Then it’s Proud To Be An American Time, where Donald Trump is eager to have political rallies again, but with COVID-19 still on the prowl, he doesn’t want to be held accountable if folks get sick, so he’s going to have his attendees sign a waiver to keep them from suing him if they contract the virus. Also, Donald Trump just finalized the rollback of LGBTQ patient protections. Protections that were put in place by the Obama administration. And could lawmakers in Mississippi really be considering removing the stars and bars from their state flag? We’ll find out what the details are to some proposed legislation moving through their statehouse.
