ABOUT - The Joi of Social Work Podcast was born when it’s creator (Joi, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from the Bronx) was hit with the tragic deaths of her father in 2009, mother in 2011, and boyfriend in 2017. Joi has taken her story of life after loss, the importance of mental health care (especially in Black and Brown communities) and shares it with listeners of her podcast through comedy & humor. Coping mechanism? Perhaps. But if there is one thing you can always count on, is Joi and her guests keeping it real, honest & authentic.
