ABOUT - Dr. Wilsa M.S. Charles Malveaux, MD, MA , is a General and Sports Psychiatrist in Los Angeles CA, and is the CEO and President of WCM Sports Psych. She completed her BA and MA in Psychology at Stanford University; her Medical Degree at Howard University College of Medicine (HUCM); and completed her residency training in Psychiatry at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she was a Chief Resident. She is a former elite Track & Field athlete who trained to compete in the Summer Olympics for Track and Field. Some areas of special interest in her practice include performance, life/career transitions, and overcoming unexpected setbacks. She also is an advocate and educator on the intersection of Mental Health, Sports, and Racial & Social Justice. Dr. Wilsa Charles Malveaux lends her expertise as a psychiatric consultant to the U. S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), and serves Olympic & Paralympic athletes as a member of the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) Mental Health Registry. Dr. Wilsa Charles Malveaux is also a psychiatrist for the NBPA’s Mental Health and Wellness Program, and serves on the Board of the Black Psychiatrists of America (BPA) as the Western Regional Trustee.
