Today I turn 30, and no, I’m not “just a baby”. About a month ago I noticed many were hopping on the #10yearchallenge train. I couldn’t help but be taken back to (the parts I can remember of) my 20 year old self — a lost exotic dancer + sex worker addicted to drugs and all of the wrong kinds of attention, and how greatly my life has changed since then. I think it’s easy for many to assume that my happiness and successes along with my passion for sharing personal empowerment came naturally. I decided to wait until this day to share my own personal 10 year journey along with some of that which came before it. Each day we wake up is a miracle. Every breath we take is magic and should never be taken for granted. Our bodies are self-healing. Our minds are powerful beyond belief and our hearts are so tenderly resilient. There have been many points in my life where I put myself and my body in very dangerous and life-threatening situations. Years of living as a chemical cocktail of drugs, alcohol, and misery. When I say I’m grateful, I mean it. Here’s my story.
