Pivoting in your business is both scary and essential. A pivot means change and changes can go wrong, but often if we don’t pivot and change we might fail completely.
In this week’s episode we will be discussing the ins and outs of pivoting and what it means for your small business
To start things off, Sarah shares:
- Exactly what is a pivot in a business context
- The difference between big and small pivots
- How to know when to pivot
Sarah is then joined by Sarah Kalmeta aka Sarah The Pivoter.
Sarah is the founder of Pivot Point but is so much more than that. She started as a figure skater but due to injury she pivoted into aviation but much later on was forced to pivot again.
In today’s episode Sarah shares:
- What steps she took to help herself actively identify where to pivot to next professionally
- The importance of recognising and acting on upcoming change
- How making a change can occur in varying degrees and the common pivot most people ignore
Key Quotes:
“When you’re really happy and really fulfilled, there’s a limit there because you don’t want to do anything different.”
“If you're thinking about a year from now’s actions you will never do todays actions.”
“We can continue in the same direction we’ve been. We can even just go 1 degree. But most people think it has to be a 180 flip.”
