Social pressure is becoming an epidemic of astronomical proportions. In a 2018 poll by teen social media site After School, over 45% of teens reported feeling stressed "all the time", and cited relationships and teachers as being the primary reason why.
It doesn't stop there. Intense parental pressure to perform is causing young adults to enter Universities with pre-existing depression and anxiety issues at alarming rates. And once you've graduated, it doesn't get easier. According to a 2018 survey by the Korn Ferry Institute, over 35% of workers reported their biggest source of stress as being their boss.
At this point in time, social pressure is so ingrained into our society it's difficult to really see where it's coming from.
