EP 33: Active Truth Co-Founder Nadia Tucker talks all things Motherhood, Big Boobies, Cancer, The idea of 'Success' As a Modern Mother & Business Owner & More
Today we welcome our incredible Sponsor and one of the co-founders of Active Truth. We are such HUGE fans of this company and have both lived in the maternity tights before and after birth. So, we are humbled to chat to Nadia Tucker, who moved to Brisbane on the same day in 2011 and as new her neighbor Stevie (sounds like destiny) and they quickly became friends over baby playdates and long pram walks in search of coffee. Together, they navigated returning to exercise after having their babies and the many changes that their bodies experienced over this time. They were frustrated with buying activewear online and receiving products that looked beautiful on models but didn’t perform in real-life on bodies without model proportions, so they decided to take matters into their own hands. This was a common theme when talking with friends and family. So, they set out to create a brand that not only serviced the activewear needs of women, but celebrated them too!
Active Truth is committed to showing a diverse range of women wearing their activewear. They want women to look at Active Truth and see someone like themselves – happy, active, looking and feeling amazing in their activewear. They refuse to photoshop their models and continue to challenge stereotypes and bias around body image which we love. Active Truth are proud to work with organisations that support women through their partnerships with Share the Dignity, Body Image Movement, and a number of smaller female-led, or female-focused, charities. We talk about:
- Pumping and BIG boobies
- Starting the business in the living room and sleeping in swags etc.
- How the 4th Trimester was for Nadia and the challenges that she overcame
- How far the business has come and her fave pair of tights
