Expecting ourselves and others to be perfect is the result of conditioning and trauma, and it keeps us stuck and unhappy. We ought to practice loving ourselves for when we don't fit up to the conditioned expectations that involve "perfect" to heal our self-worth. Maybe this also comes from redefining "perfect."
