The brain limits our endurance capacity before our body needs to physically slow down, essentially the brain is wired to keep us safe, this consequently limits our potential.

Rory shares psychological skills you can train and develop into your daily routine to improve your overall performance. He explains how the brain perceives effort as a threat and identifies how we should change this perception into a challenge so we can embrace it and move toward it.

He talks about finding the ‘flow state’, the optimal state a person can be in when competing.

Rory explains how breathing practices can help manage performance anxiety pre-event.

He talks about managing the ‘inner critic’, the voice in our head that gives us negative feedback. He explains the benefits of reassurance prior to events with self talk such as; why am I hear, what have I got to lose? He explains how to ground yourself in the situation during a race and do a self-check to realise you are not feeling as bad as you think you are.

Haddy uses his wealth of experience managing the fragile minds of the NORG team to get some valuable advice from Rory, while Wolfie keeps Rory on his toes with his multiple personality disorder.
