Amy Brewer is a girl from Texas with a global vision. She became a labor & delivery nurse to serve women in developing nations. She was so inspired by the women in the clinics and wanted them to have the same opportunities she had in her life. Her mission changed from being a nurse to employing women so their children can become nurses or lawyers or whatever else they choose to be. She had a chance encounter with a woman named Evelyn in Uganda who is now her business partner. Together, they employ 32 single moms and widows in Uganda. The business is named Elizabeth’s Voice. Inspired by Elizabeth’s story in the Bible when Elizabeth was there for Mary when she found out she was pregnant with Jesus. In this episode, Jenny and Amy talk about the start of Elizabeth’s Voice and her journey from being a full time nurse working across the globe to finding her way to Uganda to empower the women of a community she fell in love with. Amy followed her passion pursuit and continues to create opportunities, skills training and more for the communities she is a part of. This episode reminds us that no matter what is happening in this world and what we might be feeling that - you are enough, you did enough and you have enough.
