In today’s episode, we dive into one of our favorite topics: Politics. It’s crucial to seek the Lord’s heart and Word when it comes to any topic, especially one as controversial as politics. Which is why our intention with this episode was not a focus on endorsing a candidate or party (we didn’t mention any candidates names at all, actually), but to explore Biblical principles on politics. Here, we take a deep dive into servant-leadership, the political parties during Jesus’ time, and what are the principles that we are called to uphold as followers of Jesus.
What we’re going to cover
Everything is political.
Politics during Jesus’ time.
Law of the Land vs. Law of the Lord. Which do we follow, and when?
How did Jesus show up as a leader?
What do we do when the options aren’t reflective of our principles, values and people?
Putting our faith in political representatives vs. God/Jesus
Separation of Church and state? Political values are a reflection of our morals and values which oftentimes come from our religion.
The election has passed. What now?
