Ep. 4: The Back-End Server is the API Server – Building API-First

Listen Later

"The API economy is growing very rapidly – it's very easy now for companies to build things that allow you to move data between the products you use without any custom middleware."

In Episode 4 of The New Builders, Process Street Co-Founder and CEO, Vinay Patankar (@vinayp10), joined us to discuss how his company's API-first workflow solution is optimized for the "open API economy." Process Street is a cloud-based workflow solution which automates the movement of data between different SaaS products, and development of their application centered around ease of data movement and communication with other apps.

We dove into the differences between Process Street and traditional workflow solutions (5:02), the workings of the open API economy (6:36), what it means to build apps with an API-first architecture (10:40), Process Street's open source-based, hybrid database management system (14:39) and the basics of single page applications (16:23).
