When I lived in America, I did plenty of church. Though I made it work abroad, the forced positivity I'd created wouldn't last in the UK. In What America Did to Me, I talk about how I went from worshiping the church to despising its practices. For the first time since ever, I step outside of myself, take a look, and do not like what I see.
