On Saturday I caught the train up to Chingford with a packed lunch and took myself to the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge, it was awesome. I learned about the struggle of the 19th century commoners to preserve their rights over Epping Forest, and the greedy land owners trying to steal the land from the people. I learned about King henry VII having this tower built so that he could sit down and shoot deer with his bow after his legs were too fucked up to ride a horse. I had a scone with jam and cream, and walked around the forest, and then on the way back to the station I saw some flag people having a fight. Great Saturday!
