EP 41: Limitality - the space between old you & new you - and how to navigate

Listen Later

Transition. movement, passage, or change from one position, state, stage, subject, concept, etc., to another; change

There are 2 types of transitions that can sneakily sabotage our weigh less efforts:

1.   In between daily life circumstances (work/home; lunch/after lunch) - if we don't give ourselves space between the Go-Go-Go - our emotions and thoughts become compounded and can feel overwhelming and un-process-able (that's a word, right?)

2.   In between our old selves and the next version of ourselves there are setbacks - there are instances where we swing back to old behaviours, habits, and thoughts.

I love using the definition of Limitality to describe this pattern: A Latin word meaning “threshold”. The transitional period or phase of a rite of passage; the quality of the disorientation that occurs in the middle stages – the in between.

When we are in between our old selves and new selves - we are mid-transformation. The "slip ups" to our old ways are to be expected for a period and are a rite of passage until the new you starts to feel more comfy.

Listen in to this episode where I take these ideas a little further and offer some solutions to make it better.
