    Welcome to Season 2!

After doing season one, I realized there were some big topics I wanted to go into deeper detail and perfectionism was one of those topics.

How you know this season is for you:

    • You have a tough inner critic & are ridiculously hard on yourself

    • You can’t remember the last time you had a glorious failure – the kind where you give something your all but fail in an epic blaze of glory

    • You don’t dream big anymore

    • You self-sabotage

    • You never ask for help (you’d rather die trying)

    • You often feel resentful of others for asking so much

    • You’re “all-or-nothing” (and maybe proud of it)

Join me with an open, curious mind in dissecting these themes and make space for perspective shifts.

“The difference between school and life? In school, you’re taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you’re given a test that teaches you a lesson.” Tom Bodett

Making Space was born out of the idea that our authenticity is "protected" under layers of social conditioning, traumas, and fears.

The goal in my work is to help elevate and empower through increasing self-knowledge, self-trust, self-awareness, self-compassion, basically all the "selves".

Because ... ugh I'm sorry to repeat the overused obvious, but you are the one that will heal you. AND - the "how" and "when" are out of your control.

I know this feels like terrible news.

It's scary to surrender. To not control.

But here's the thing: healing is not linear, it takes its own path and time.

I don't believe anyone is "blocked", broken, or needs "fixing".

But we like to believe that because it appeals to the victim in us that feels out of control.

By making space between the conditioning, trauma, fears, and our authentic selves, we can create a healed response (vs. knee jerk reactions that don't serve) and live in alignment.

Where it's easier to surrender to the process AND feel empowered.

From here we can really start to build an authentic, aligned life - safely.

What Making Space is all about:

    • clearing out old beliefs, old patterns, old thoughts
    • making space for more energy, vitality, connection, and empowerment

As with all my work (and well, most everything), please listen with consideration of context, nuance, and discernment.

  • Final Episode For Brain Boss

You can now find my new private podcast Making Space here - https://www.jenpillipow.com/making-space-private-podcast

My friends!! It's time to offer farewell to the Podcast Brain Boss. If you've been with me over the last 3 seasons - thank you - but you also know the impetus for the Podcast was to share mindset tools on weight loss.

Wow, have we evolved since then!!

I've learned so much from my own journey and from my clients. And what we all have in common is this desire to live a more aligned, authentic life. But it's not as easy as 1-2-3 even though it’s so much harder to survive when you’re trying to be someone else.

This is the basis for the new podcast coming in the next couple of weeks - more on that in the episode!

  • Conclusion

It's the final episode of the season!

Thank you for sticking with me this season on self-awareness.

It's so simple, but not easy. It's simple and powerful. It's brave and courageous to practice.

If you've been doing the work (took the quiz, and really practiced), you have more self-awareness now than you did 8 weeks ago.

You also have started to create ripple effects around you. Without knowing it, you're inspiring others to challenge old beliefs and patterns and try something new.

    Well done!

  • What "Parts" Of You Sabotage?

Today I get to talk about my favorite RTT tool: RFPI (role, function, purpose, intention)!

You know when you say "I want to do it, but a PART OF ME WON'T LET ME"?

We all these "parts" of us.

    And you know what?

We created them, so we can play with them, update them, re-purpose them, or even archive them.

In this podcast episode I talk about it from a conscious point of view - but if you want to take it deeper and explore in the subconscious mind AND update it - check out my online workshop HERE (podcast listeners use coupon code Authentic50 for 50% off).

  • Quick Update!

Please join me over on the NEW Facebook Group for this Season - Self-Awareness (For Authentic Living)

Want to take this work deeper into the subconscious, not just the conscious? Tap into that 95% of your power?

It might sound strange that the subconscious sabotaging part of you has a positive intention (something I get into more detail about in module 2 of the workshop).

But what you can remember is that you created all the parts of you – you have the control. So you can always decide to update anything you created. This gives you the opportunity and space to do so.

More importantly, it reminds you that there’s no part of you that needs to be called bad.

All your parts were created by you and are trying to serve a positive purpose – but left to the subconscious it may be misguided.

You’re not broken, and you don’t need to be fixed.

But as human beings, we always have the opportunity to update for what will work with us today.

  • The Rubber Band Effect

As you're practicing your self-awareness style you might first realize how un-aware you are. And then you might notice it gets harder and you feel "tested". This is good news!

"Tests" are designed to come up before big shifts. It's a sign you're doing it right, going in the right direction.

Here’s what I invite you to do: ask yourself these 3 questions:

    1.    What are your distractions teaching you?

    2.    Who are you becoming in the process?

    3.    What’s the real lesson?

In this episode I refer to knowing your own personal self awareness strength – if you’re jumping in at episode 4, you can discover your own self awareness strength by completing my short, free quiz on my website – but I highly encourage you to start from episode 1 as each episode builds on the last, is in a specific order.

In this show I share tips on when to practice your self-awareness style, how to slow down, and how to start looking at this habit we all have - to escape the present moment.

  • The Shadow Side Of Your Self-Awareness Style

"If you don't have any shadows you're not in the light." ~ Lady Gaga

Today on the podcast I start with a grounding, so if you typically listen to this episode while driving or walking, I recommend you find a cozy seat and settle in for this 20 minutes.

Today is one of my favorite topics: the shadow side.

We each have a self-awareness style. A way we connect to ourselves when we’re stressed and taxed. And we're either doing it in a deliberate, thoughtful way that helps us; or, we are getting sucked into the vortex of automatic, subconscious behavior that leads us to toxic habits and negative outcomes. I call this the shadow side of our self awareness style and that's what today's episode is all about.

“Study me as much as you like, you will not know me, for I differ in a hundred ways from what you see me be. Put yourself behind my eyes and see me as I see myself, for I have chosen to dwell in a place you cannot see.” ~ Rumi
