  • The Dark Side

    “We can never know the depth of our light until we are shown our darkness”

    Today on the show I talk about how the 2 different thoughts: "accepting yourself as is"; & "wanting to lose weight to look better", are actually the same thing and both require us to own our "shadow".

    "You must go into the dark in order to bring forth your light” - Debbie Ford.

    ~~~
    Gravity is working against me
    And gravity wants to bring me down
    Oh, I'll never known what makes this man
    With all the love that his heart can stand
    Dream of ways to throw it all away
    Whoa, gravity is working against me
    And gravity wants to bring me down
    Oh, twice as much ain't twice as good
    And can't sustain like one half could
    It's wanting more that's gonna send me to my knees
    Oh twice as much ain't twice as good
    And can't sustain like one half could
    It's wanting more that's gonna send me to my knees
    Whoa, gravity, stay the hell away from me
    Whoa, gravity has taken better men than me
    Now how can that be?
    Just keep me where the light is
    Just keep me where the light is
    Just keep me where the light is
    Come on keep me where the light is
    Come on keep me where, keep me where the light is
    If you are pursuing a big goal and having trouble sticking to the journey you need to look at your tests, lessons, and who you want to become.
    Where are you currently being tested right now?
    How are you responding to these tests?
    What lessons are you learning?
    Are you peeling the layers to your authentic self?
    What tests do you see coming your way?
    As long as you have an end-goal, those tests will keep coming...when are you ready to step up and make the unfamiliar familiar, and the familiar unfamiliar?
  • Limiting Beliefs & Subconscious Programming
    Today I'm excited to talk about limiting beliefs from both the conscious and subconscious point of view. Because it's so important to me that you practice identifying your limiting beliefs, I created a free worksheet for you HERE. Identifying limiting beliefs is incredibly empowering and this is a great tool to equip you to finding yours.
    When we identify and eliminate beliefs holding us back we start to remove the layers covering our authentic selves, we stop sabotaging, people pleasing, living out of alignment to our true needs.
    We get to step into our true selves.
    I hope your journaling helps you identify your limiting beliefs and rewires your mind for better alignment with your authenticity! If you need more help you can schedule a free call with me on my website HERE.
    RTT is great for reprogramming your subconscious mind for confidence, releasing fears, self-sabotage, releasing anxiety, guilt, shame and other physical or emotional symptoms.
    I believe eliminating limiting beliefs are the gateway to living your authentic, higher version of your self and reaching all your goals, so you can live in alignment with what makes you happy.
  • The Mother of all Sabotage
    I’ve realized what the mother of all self-sabotage is.
    The more I see over-eating as a symptom and not the root of the issue – the more I realize food isn’t the saboteur. Sabotaging doesn't even really come from our thoughts or emotions – although they play a powerful role and can unlock the answers....
    You know what it is? The true sabotager?
    It’s suppressing your authentic self.
    When we don’t allow our authenticity, our self-expression to shine through – we become deeply unhappy. Then a couple of things happen. We look for external quick fixes – eating, drinking, shopping, etc.
    In this episode I explore this concept and what it means to align yourself with your inner compass (authentic self) to allow your right-size body to come to you.
  • A new spin on Values
    In today's show I explore authenticity, patience, and gratitude.
    If you're a high performer, you'll want to understand the subtle shifts in these values so they resonate and help you on your journey.
    I talk abut the differences between:
    -patience and presence;
    -gratitude and appreciation; and,
    -surface authenticity and deep authenticity
    “There’s a vitality, a life force that’s translated through you into action and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly to keep the channel open”
  • BONUS - How does RTT get to the root of the problem?
    Many clients come to me wanting to stop overeating, bingeing, stop eating when they aren't hungry.
    I tell them those are just symptoms of an underlying root belief.
    And very often the root belief has NOTHING to do with food.
    It can sound confusing!
    In this bonus episode I break down common categories of subconscious belief structures that create the crazy symptoms we experience as adults.
  • Are you Over-Correcting?
    Do you over-correct?
    Do you overeat, overdrink, and then promise to "eat only vegetables tomorrow" or "run 10 km tomorrow" to "make up for it"?
    Over-correcting leads to sabotage because as humans, living in that intensity of all-or-nothing completely sets us up to fail. Then when we don't meet our crazy high expectations, we feel bad about ourselves, and the cycle gets worse.
    “Most people need consistency more than intensity. Consistency = progress” James Clear.
    In this podcast episode I ask you to look for where you can be more consistent and less intense.
    If working out 5 days a week hasn't worked - try to be consistent with 3 days a week.
    If being on a strict diet makes you binge - try no rules, try listening to your body.
  • Soft Skills of Weight Loss
    “I must learn to love the fool in me – the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs, and cries.
    It alone protects me against that utterly self-controlled, masterful tyrant whom I also harbour and who would rob me of my human aliveness, humility, and dignity but for my fool."
    By Theodore Rubin.
    In this episode I talk about the soft skills of weight loss with a focus on self-compassion. Why it's scary to be kind to ourselves + our bodies, and how to break the habit of being the masterful tyrant.
    Cracking the whip may get you to your goal, but it won't be sustainable. Self-compassion and presence will get you where you want to go, enjoy the journey, and build a sustainable life.
