In today's Quick Bitch Sesh, I talk about the dangers of toxic positivity. I talk about what it is and how it leads to shame, guilt, inauthentic relationships, and unhealthy coping mechanisms. It threatens a person's ability to regulate emotions in a healthy way, and, at its most extreme, can even be abusive or used as a gaslighting tactic.
Toxic positivity devalues a person's emotions and dismisses a person's real experiences.
