The On Purpose Podcast Ep. 45 – We Judge People
What is the difference between judgement and stereotyping?
Stereotyping is a quick first assessment or perception of an individual. Judgement is when your stereotype turns into something negative. It’s a fine line, but one we walk constantly.
In this episode we discuss how judgement can lead to shutting yourself off from people and experiences. Is there a way to improve how we judge others and use our judgements to serve in our favor?
Take inventory of what judgements you make about specific people who are important to you in your life. Do you find yourself making judgements about people in general? Do you allow stereotypes to define the person?
This Week’s Purposeful Practice:
1.Take inventory of what judgments you make about “people” in general.
2.Take inventory of what judgments you make about specific people like your immediate family, circle of five, etc.
3.How do these judgments serve you now and how can you improve.
