What if you've already become the person you're working so hard to be—but your mind hasn't caught up yet?
In this solo episode of The On Purpose Podcast, Jerrod Hardy explores the concept of identity lag—the disconnect between who we've become through our actions and who we still believe ourselves to be.
Sometimes our habits, decisions, and behaviors have changed, but we're still holding onto an outdated version of ourselves. Whether it's fear of new expectations, past mistakes, or the way others continue to see us, that old identity can quietly limit our growth and keep us from recognizing how far we've come.
Jerrod challenges us to stop defining ourselves by who we used to be and start acknowledging the person our actions prove we've become.

What if, instead of focusing on the things that trigger us, we became better at noticing the moments that bring us back to ourselves?
In this episode of The On Purpose Podcast, Jerrod Hardy sits down with adventurer and visual storyteller Tony Di Zinno for a conversation about storytelling, travel, inspiration, self-awareness, and the experiences that shape how we see the world.
Tony introduces the idea of “glimmers”—the people, places, stories, and moments that reconnect us with ourselves amid the noise and chaos of life. While triggers can pull us away from who we want to be, glimmers can remind us of what matters and inspire us to keep moving forward.
Drawing from his experiences documenting humanitarian crises, indigenous cultures, and people around the world, Tony shares how storytelling and travel have challenged his assumptions, expanded his perspective, and deepened his appreciation for the stories all around us.
Tony's story is an invitation to pay closer attention—to the world, to other people, and to those small moments that remind us who we are.

What if the most painful chapters of your life could help you discover who you were meant to become?
In this episode of The On Purpose Podcast, Jerrod Hardy sits down with Heather Melville, a toxic relationship recovery coach who helps people rebuild healthy relationships with themselves and others.
Heather shares her own journey of leaving a toxic relationship, rediscovering her identity, and ultimately transforming her pain into purpose. Once an engineer focused on building the life she thought she was supposed to want, Heather eventually realized that success wasn't just about making more money—it was about doing work that felt meaningful and leaving the world better than she found it.
Jerrod and Heather explore what it takes to reconnect with yourself after losing pieces of your identity in an unhealthy relationship, why healing requires honest self-exploration, and how even our hardest experiences can become opportunities for growth.
Heather's story is a reminder that our difficult experiences don't have to define the rest of our lives. We can learn from them, reconnect with ourselves, and use what we've been through to create something meaningful moving forward.

What can 12 years on the road teach you about adventure, perspective, and what it really means to belong somewhere?
In this episode of The On Purpose Podcast, Jerrod Hardy sits down with Amy Burkert, entrepreneur, longtime traveler, and newly elected mayor of Bisbee, Arizona, to talk about a life shaped by curiosity, change, and a willingness to take the less predictable path.
Amy's adventure began after she and her husband adopted a stray German Shepherd named Buster—a decision that eventually inspired them to create GoPetFriendly.com, leave their traditional lives behind, and spend 12 years traveling full-time in an RV with their dogs.
Along the way, Amy learned lessons that went far beyond travel: how to communicate when you're constantly together, adapt when plans fall apart, question what you think you know, and appreciate the many different ways people choose to live.
Now, after years of exploring communities across the country, Amy has found a different kind of adventure—serving the community she calls home as mayor of Bisbee.

What if the moment you're waiting for is the one you're already in?
In this solo episode of The On Purpose Podcast, Jerrod Hardy explores what it means to stop waiting for the perfect time and start fully engaging with the life happening right now.
Too often, we get caught looking ahead to when we'll have more time, more information, more confidence, or better circumstances. Or we stay stuck looking backward at what we wish we'd done differently. Meanwhile, we miss the only moment we can actually influence—the present one.
Jerrod challenges us to choose presence over perfection and reminds us that readiness isn't a feeling. It's demonstrated by what we do.

What if the emotions behind your decisions are more important than the goals you set?
In this episode of The On Purpose Podcast, Jerrod Hardy sits down with 90-year-old businessman, investor, and performance coach Bob Raybould to explore the connection between emotions, mindset, and success.
Bob shares lessons developed over more than five decades, including how recognizing his own limiting beliefs helped transform his career and dramatically increase his income. His philosophy is simple but powerful: your emotional patterns influence your decisions, and your decisions shape your future.
Jerrod and Bob discuss how inherited beliefs and negative self-talk can quietly hold us back, why visualization can help create lasting change, and how emotions like gratitude and confidence can support the mindset needed to pursue meaningful goals.
At 90 years old, Bob is proof that personal growth doesn't have an expiration date. His message is a reminder that changing your future often begins by changing what you believe about yourself today.

How much is too much screen time—and what is it doing to our kids, our families, and even our own brains?
In this episode of The On Purpose Podcast, Jerrod Hardy sits down with licensed mental health counselor, digital addiction coach, and LifeWalk Coaching founder Mary Catherine Liscinski to explore the growing impact of screen overuse and digital addiction.
Mary Catherine shares how excessive screen time can affect attention, motivation, sleep, relationships, and family connection. More importantly, she offers hope for parents who feel like the battle over phones, video games, and social media has already gotten out of control.
Jerrod and Mary Catherine discuss practical ways families can reduce screen time, reconnect with one another, spend more time outdoors, and create healthier boundaries around technology. They also tackle an important question for every parent: Are we modeling the screen habits we want our kids to have?
Mary Catherine is also the author of A Guide for Getting Your Kids Off of Screens, which offers practical strategies to help families reduce screen dependence and build healthier habits.

What can the outdoors teach us about living a better, more intentional life?
In this episode of The On Purpose Podcast, Jerrod Hardy sits down with lifelong outdoorsman and author Matt Wemple to explore the restorative power of nature, the importance of community, and why some of the best stories belong to the ordinary people we encounter every day.
From growing up exploring the woods and swamps of Louisiana to building a life in southwest Montana, Matt shares how hunting, fishing, backpacking, faith, and storytelling have shaped the way he sees the world. They discuss why getting outside helps quiet the noise of modern life, the value of being present, and why we need each other more than we sometimes realize.
Matt also shares lessons from writing five books about Montana's people, traditions, and wild places—and why preserving those stories matters. His writing is rooted in the belief that extraordinary people are often hiding in plain sight.

What if resilience isn’t something you’re born with—but something you can train?
In this solo episode of The On Purpose Podcast, Jerrod Hardy challenges the idea that resilience is a personality trait. Instead, he explains why resilience is a skill that can be developed through awareness, emotional regulation, and recovery.
Jerrod explores how leaders, parents, coaches, and individuals can build resilience before adversity strikes—and why simply “toughing it out” isn’t enough.
Drawing from leadership, MMA, parenting, and his 100-mile ultramarathon experience, Jerrod shares practical lessons on handling failure, staying grounded under pressure, and modeling resilience for the people around you.
You don't have to be born resilient. You can train it.
