Ep 46: Part 2- How to Work the Room

Now last week, we talked about communication, but today we're going to talk about the confidence piece. We said on our last episode that you can have the gift of gab beyond anyone you know, but if you aren't confident, people won't trust you. In fact, they'll usually doubt you. And you can have all the confidence in the world but if you can't communicate effectively, you may come off as cocky or arrogant, or even worse, you may lose your influence altogether.
So what makes someone confident?
Confidence comes from a place of belief, and competence. Those two can switch places sometimes on the balance scale, but that's ultimately the source. Websters defines self confidence as a feeling of trust in one's abilities, qualities, and judgment.
Most people don't have an intrisnic source of confidence, and by that, I mean it doesn't come naturally.
7 ways you can be more confident
1.) Make the choice to believe in yourself. At some point, it starts with a decision.
2.) Eliminate doubt words from your vocabulary. Change I'll try to I will. I want to I am going to.
3.) Work on your natural gifting, and your craft.
4.) Place value on your physical appearance. <---- Don't email us about how everyone is beautiful. We know everything isn't in looks, but it is important to look in the mirror and make sure you're presentable.
5.) Put healthy habits in place.
6.) Operate with integrity.
7.) Keep track of your success, and remind yourself of those times.
