Society develops certain characteristics and features of the ideal human body, which can have an effect both physically and mentally. Through the years, this has become more prevalent with the rise of social media. Growing up as queer, Asian individuals, we reflect back on our childhood to discuss what fostered these ideas of body image and beauty standards and what continues to perpetuate them today.
