Social media has now become essential in our everyday lives, whether it be for the news or simply staying connected with friends. It provides an online community where individuals are free to express themselves and even meet new people. This is especially true for LGBTQ+ individuals who had and still have difficulty doing so within their own homes. Dating within the gay community presents several challenges, from trying to meet unrealistic beauty standards to people simply being "emotionally unavailable." In this episode, we unravel the difficulties faced on dating apps as well as how the "gay timeline" affects the dating scene.

Society develops certain characteristics and features of the ideal human body, which can have an effect both physically and mentally. Through the years, this has become more prevalent with the rise of social media. Growing up as queer, Asian individuals, we reflect back on our childhood to discuss what fostered these ideas of body image and beauty standards and what continues to perpetuate them today.
